SKIPFEST 2009 @ Rulang Primary School

Vitage Fitness was appointed by Rulang Primary School to organize the SkipFest 2009. The SkipFest 2009 is aimed at getting the pupils of Rulang to participate in a record-breaking attempt and fitness carnival. The key objectives of this skipping carnival are Leadership & Character Development as well as Health, Fitness & Energy Management.
 
The primary focus of the SkipFest 2009 is a record attempt for the the Most Number of Backward Bounce Skips in 2 Hours. The pupils and parents of Rulang Primary School clocked in more than 180 000 backward bounce skips and took home the record which was awarded by the Singapore Book of Records.
 
Complementing this record attempt were telematch games, health talks by Health Promotion Board and Singapore Heart Foundation as well as a National Education segment showcasing the traits and history of prominent Singapore Leaders in leading and serving the community.
 
Vitage Fitness’ responsibilities included:
  • Event conceptualization
  • Crowd control & security – Ensure that systematic procedures were in place for crowd control as well as First Aid standbys in the event of an emergency.
  • Provision of record & game stewards – Record stewards hold the important role of ensuring that skips are recorded accurately in order to qualify for the record.
  • Submission of materials for qualification to the Singapore Book of records
  • Logistics and administration preparation – Logistics preparation included wet weather contingency planning as well as sourcing for ropes.
  • Rope skipping training – Provision of rope skipping training to ensure that all pupils were able to perform the backward bounce skip.
